This Is Lavender Season

In the 19th century, lavender became a commercial crop in France as the perfume industry blossomed in Grasse, located in Provence’s Alpine region. Today, around 1,700 producers throughout Provence cultivate approximately 62,000 acres of two varieties of the plant: lavender, used in perfumes and cosmetics, and lavandin, a longer-stemmed hybrid used to scent household products.

In sun-drenched Provence, it is now lavender season, and the plants are in peak bloom. The sweet-scented, violet-hued lavender in the area around Nyons serves as the source for two of our products: ProSenteur® Lavender and ProActive® Relaxing.

Lavender, if left to its own devices, will happily bloom for around two months during the summer. However, the lavender of Provence is grown for its oil; this means that the farmers must harvest it at just the right time to collect the oil when it’s at its most potent and abundant, which is when around 2/3 of the individual flowers on the lavender heads are open.

ProSenteur® Lavender (INCI name Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil (and) Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil (and) Hydrogenated Soybean Oil) is a sensory butter engineered to pack the sensations and benefits of Provence lavender into a skin-friendly butter form. Our objective with ProSenteur® Lavender is to deliver “your Provence in a bottle” to every corner of the world. This unique composition encapsulates lavender scents in a skin-pleasant butter form, enabling their extended stability and controlled release. The composition melts at slightly above human skin temperature, providing a pleasant, rich sensation upon application to skin. Our lavender oil is harvested from dedicated organic farms and then immediately processed in our specialized distillery with premium setups.

ProActive® Relaxing (INCI name: Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract (and) Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter) is our skincare active ingredient product derived from a patent-pending extraction process. In addition to the unique scents of lavender, ProActive® Relaxing concentrates lavender antioxidants, contributing to effective antioxidative and antibacterial performances. It relieves stress, is relaxing and soothing, and calms the skin. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, ProActive® Relaxing can also effectively treat skin conditions associated with acne, eczema, burns, and psoriasis. It is also good for anti-aging, as it stimulates cellular growth and cellular regeneration.
